Car Rental Near Hickam AFB & Pearl Harbor (JBPHH)

JBPHH is the busiest PCS destination on the island, and the airport chains next door know it, a month there averages about $1,800 with taxes and fees, more if you are 21-24, and if you are 18-20 they likely will not rent to you at all. Add the credit-card-only rules and most junior enlisted are shut out. We're the local alternative just west of base, and we've been doing PCS rentals since 2013.

Why JBPHH families rent from Baba

• One flat monthly rate instead of thirty daily rates, and age-tiered pricing, not daily fees, for 18-24.
• Debit cards, personal insurance, no credit card required. USAA, GEICO, Navy Federal-linked policies. Bring the declarations page showing collision with a $1,000-or-less deductible.
• Extend by phone, text, or email when the POV is late (subject to availability), and return without penalty once it clears the Vehicle Processing Center. Monthly is the discounted no-refund option; go weekly if your car is due within the month.
• An easy H-1 drive from every JBPHH housing area: Hickam housing, Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR), Red Hill, Pearl City Peninsula, Manana (the Marine Corps housing in Pearl City), Ford Island, and Kapilina Beach Homes (the former Iroquois Point Navy housing) right here in Ewa Beach. 30-60 minutes, traffic depending.

Getting here from JBPHH

H-1 west to Fort Weaver Road (exit 5A), south toward Ewa Beach, then to Iroquois Ave, about 13 miles, 30-60 minutes depending on H-1 traffic. Landing at HNL? Budget 30-60 minutes from the terminal; a rideshare straight to us on arrival day is common. Schedule your pickup as early in the day as you can: rush hour traffic usually starts around 3pm and runs until 6pm or so.

How the PCS rental usually goes

• Book before you fly. Request a quote, provide the necessary insurance documents, place your deposit, and save your reservation number. We can accommodate same day pickups as long as we still have vehicles available, but we recommend booking in advance.
• Pick up in Ewa Beach. Our yard is at 5001 Iroquois Ave inside the American Veterans (AMVETS) building, our partners. Pickups and drop-offs by appointment, 9am to 7pm daily, with the last pickup at 6:30pm. The earlier the pickup the better: rush hour traffic usually runs from about 3pm to 6pm.
• Monthly or week-to-week, your call. POV shipping to Hawaii is unpredictable. The monthly rate is the deep discount (no refund on unused days); the weekly rate costs more per week but lets you pay week to week and stop when the POV lands. Extensions by phone, text, or email, subject to availability.
• Debit card fine, USAA/GEICO/etc. accepted. Personal auto insurance with collision and a deductible of $1,000 or less means no CDW fee. If your credit card includes rental car coverage (see our non exhaustive list), you only need to submit a valid insurance card with your name on it. Digital copies accepted. No credit card required.
• Return when the POV clears. There's no penalty for returning early, but heads-up: monthly rates are heavily discounted, so an unused portion of a monthly rental isn't refunded. If you expect your POV in under a month, take the weekly rate and pay week to week instead (extensions subject to availability).
